Read to the elderly in senior living facilities and/or nursing homes

DUTIES

1. Read to the elderly at regularly scheduled times at  area senior living facilities and/or nursing homes
2. Familiarize oneself with library policies

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Comfortable in nursing home environment
2. Patience in dealing with persons of limited capabilities
3. Good interpersonal communications skills
4. Ability to read with expression aloud without amplification

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

1.  Willing to drive own insured vehicle to accomplish task

TIME COMMITMENT

1. Approximately 3 hours per month for each reading session volunteered for (includes travel to and from and selection of materials).  Could read more than one time per month if desired.
2. Attend orientation and training sessions
