Please note: The deadline for some of the scholarships may be past for this year. We leave the applications on the website so applicants may see what is available and may plan to apply next year.

BPW Scholarships

Mountain Home Business and Professional Women will be offering six scholarships to be awarded in April, 2010.

The BPW Scholarship is awarded to a high school senior who is continuing his or her education at an accredited school of higher education.

The Esther Lyle Memorial Scholarship is available to someone who is entering or attending vocational training.

The Virginia Hirsch Scholarship is for those who have been out of school for two or more years and are returning to an accredited school.

The Elena Pollo Scholarship is for a single parent who will be or is attending an accredited school.

The Bea Lewis Scholarship and the Mary James Scholarship is for those continuing his or her education at an accredited school or vocational training institute.

The Mary James Scholarship is available for students enrolled in a medical profession program at an accredited medical school.

Junior Auxiliary of 
Mountain Home

Junior Auxiliary of Mountain Home is currently accepting applications for its local scholarship program.  Applicants must be a resident of Baxter County.  They must also be graduating from high school in the current year.  Applicants must plan to pursue studies in fields that address the needs of children and youth.  Examples include, but are not limited to:  Education, Counseling, Psychology, Metal Health, Special Education, Speech Pathology, Exceptional Children, Remedial Skills Development, Deaf Education, Hearing Impaired, Gifted and Talented, etc.  Click here for a copy of the printable form.

Junior Achievement Graduate Level Scholarship

This scholarship is open to persons pursuing graduate level studies in fields that address the special needs of youth including but not limited to: Counseling, Psychology, Gifted and Talented, Hearing Impaired, Mental Health, and Speech Pathology.  Scholarships are not awarded for graduate work in General Education or Administration.

  1. High school GPA of 3.5 (B+) or better
  2. Complete the National Co-op Scholarship Program Application including a typed one-page essay describing why you have chosen to pursue a college cooperative education program.

Twin Lakes Playhouse Scholarships

Twin Lakes Playhouse will give a $500.00 scholarship to a qualified student who is pursuing an undergraduate degree at an accredited college in some aspect of any of the performing arts.  The scholarship is not limited to only those interested in theater. The Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Baxter County Program awards scholarships to:

  • Residents of Baxter County
  • A high school graduate or equivalent
  • A single head of household, legally separated, divorced or widowed.

Presidential Freedom Scholarships

Through the program, each high school in the country may select up to two students - juniors or seniors - to receive a $1,000 scholarship in recognition of outstanding leadership in service to their community. With funds appropriated by Congress, the Corporation provides $500 for each scholarship, which must be matched with $500 secured by the participating school from the community.

The President's Scholarship

The Mountain Home Kiwanis Club has announced that it will again be giving scholarships to local residents who have been out of high school for at least one year and are continuing their education in college or trade school. 

Two $500.00 scholarship will be available.

Kiwanis Club- President's Scholarship

The Mountain Home Kiwanis Club has announced that it will again be giving scholarships to local residents who have been out of high school for at least one year and are continuing their education in college or trade school.
