Anime Mini Con

You are invited to the annual Baxter County Library Anime Mini-Convention! This year’s events will feature games, cosplay contests which begin at noon, a 2D art contest, and anime themed prizes.

 

It is time to shine! Cosplayers showoff your costume runway style in the individual category for a chance to win an anime themed item and/or perform with a group of 2-6 for a chance to win a capybara pen. Winners are selected by audience vote.

 

 

Costumes must be FAMILY FRIENDLY. Shirt, shoes, and bottoms required. No bikinis or body paint. NO REALISTIC WEAPONS. Oversized props cannot have sharp edges or be made of metal.

 

 

All ages are welcome. This is a 2D art contest for artists who love anime. The art must be anime or manga related; The scene/characters depicted must either be done in ANIME STYLE or depict characters from a published anime or manga. Art must be FAMILY FRIENDLY and NO BIGGER THAN 8.5 BY 11 INCHES.

 

 

Winners are selected by audience vote. 1st place in the Teen/Adult category will receive Copic Alcohol Markers and a $10 Hobby Lobby gift card. 1st place in the Children’s category will receive a Pokemon themed art set.  

 

Join the show! Compete in the games or laugh as an audience member as Library staff host a series of games inspired by Japanese variety shows including “BINGO”, “Who’s that Character”, “Guess That Anime”, and more. Extensive knowledge of anime is not necessary to participate in the games or to win prizes. Prizes will include anime themed stickers, resin figurines, pins, and pens.
