Paving the Way for Library Hill Trail
The Baxter County Library Foundation is pleased to announce that we have reached our $250,000 local fundraising goal for the Library Hill Trail Project. This milestone, combined with the $456,000 federal grant awarded through the Arkansas Department of Transportation’s 2024 Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP), secures the funding needed to move the project forward.
The Library Hill Trail will create a safe, accessible recreational walking path that connects the Library to the surrounding community with pedestrian- and bike-friendly access. We are grateful to the donors, partners, and community members who made this achievement possible.
As the project advances, additional support will help ensure long-term maintenance and enhancements so the trail remains a safe and welcoming community asset for years to come.
About the Trail
Length: Approximately ¾ mile
Location: Around the Library campus
Connection: Links to the existing trail systems at McCabe Park and ASU–Mountain Home (ASUMH)
The Library Hill Trail will enhance community access to the Library and surrounding areas, especially for students from ASUMH and Mountain Home Schools, who will benefit from safer walkways and bike paths. The project also complements the City of Mountain Home’s ongoing work to connect the James and Sally Moore Recreational Trail to College Street and create a crosswalk that will tie directly into Library property.
