Paving the Way for Library Hill Trail

The Baxter County Library Foundation is thrilled to bring you the Library Hill Trail Project—a new recreational walking trail that will connect our Library to the surrounding community through safer, more accessible pedestrian and bike-friendly pathways.

Thanks to a generous $456,000 federal grant from the Arkansas Department of Transportation’s 2024 Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP), 80% of the total funding needed is secured. Now, we’re working to raise the remaining 20% plus funds to maintain the trail for the long haul—and we need your help to make this vision a reality!

About the Trail

Length: Approximately ¾ mile
Location: Around the Library campus
Connection: Links to the existing trail systems at McCabe Park and ASU–Mountain Home (ASUMH)

The Library Hill Trail will enhance community access to the Library and surrounding areas, especially for students from ASUMH and Mountain Home Schools, who will benefit from safer walkways and bike paths. The project also complements the City of Mountain Home’s ongoing work to connect the James and Sally Moore Recreational Trail to College Street and create a crosswalk that will tie directly into Library property.
