The Friends of the Baxter County Library are proud to support local students pursuing higher education. This scholarship recognizes the potential and dedication of Baxter County's graduating seniors as they take their next educational steps.
We believe in investing in our community's future, and we're excited to help make college more accessible for students right here in Baxter County. The number of scholarships awarded and amounts vary year to year depending on donations, with multiple scholarships typically ranging from $800 to $1,500.
Eligibility Criteria
The Friends of the Baxter County Library Scholarship is open to Baxter County residents who meet the following criteria:
- High school graduating seniors
- Have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher
- Have been accepted by an accredited school of higher education

Selection Proccess
Essays will be judged by a separate judging panel. Applicants with top-rated essays will be interviewed by the Friends of the Library (FOL) Scholarship Committee in May. The winning applicants will be announced at the FOL General Meeting & Program in May.
Important Details
- Scholarship recipients will be asked to accept the award in-person at the Library.
- Acceptance of the FOL scholarship authorizes the use of photographs and the names of recipients in all FOL promotional news releases.
- Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the selected winners' institute of higher education. Students must provide proof of admission before FOL scholarship funds will be issued.
