What does America mean to you?

In 2026, the U.S. will mark our Semiquincentennial: the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. It’s essential we share our talents as a part of this commemorative historic milestone.

Please pick up Art Contest guidelines at the Circulation or Youth Desks (or read below). All entries due by February 28, 2026.

Eligibility

  • Youth (K – 12th Grade)
  • Adult
  • Baxter County Library card required

Submission Guidelines

  • Youth & Adults: Participants may submit 2D art no bigger than 8 ½” x 11” or 3D art no bigger than 12” x 12” x 12”.
    • One entry per person.
    • Art Categories: 2D, 3D
    • Age Categories: 5-8, 9-11, 12-14, 15-18, 19+
    • Artist Categories: Amateur, Professional
  • Work must be the original of the participant. NO AI use.
  • The work should not contain inappropriate material, political agendas, or hatred.
  • Fill out the form below and return with your art to the Circulation or Youth desks. All participants will receive a small prize upon submission. Please pick up your artwork March 30-April 4. 

Judging Guidelines

  • 1 award winner from each art, age, and artist category will receive an American-themed gift, for a total of 12 winners. Award recipients will be announced and select art entries will be displayed in March.
  • Creativity: How unique and imaginative is the artist’s approach?
  • Theme: Is it evident what America means to the artist?
  • Effort: Does the artwork show the artist’s effort and attention to detail?
  • Overall Impact: What is the overall impression of the artwork? Does it evoke emotion or leave a lasting impact?
