Baxter County Library YouTube Channel Host to Virtual Challenges, Storytimes, and More

The Baxter County Library offers a variety of programming for children and teens to enjoy from home on the Library’s YouTube channel.

Bi-weekly Challenge a Librarian videos are uploaded every other Friday to the Library’s YouTube channel. Watch Librarians attempt to complete wacky challenges, such as eating “extreme” foods, answering popular children’s book trivia questions, and guessing curious objects in “what’s in the box.” To send a Challenge a Librarian request, visit the Teens page of our website on baxlib.org.

A new Babies and Books Storytime, for ages birth to 36 months, is uploaded each Tuesday to the Library’s YouTube channel. You can also register for live, interactive Babies and Books Zoom sessions on the Library’s calendar at baxlib.org/events. During the live sessions, babies can listen and interact with their parents along with Youth Librarian Amy Johnson as she reads stories and sings songs.

A new Preschool Storytime is also uploaded each Wednesday to the Library’s YouTube channel. For ages 3-5, kids can interact with rhymes, songs, puppets, and stories. Parents can also pick up an optional craft kit downstairs in the Children’s Library a week prior to the Storytime. Parents and children can assemble the craft while watching the video together.
