Library On-line Account and Catalog Search Enhancements

The Baxter County Library recently converted to a new account and catalog management software.  Patrons who are accustom to accessing their account through the Library’s website will notice a few changes and enhancements.

First of all, the way you log into your account may look a little bit different.  When you visit www.baxlib.org, to access your library card account, click “My Account” in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. Your “Username” is your 14-digit Library Card Number, and your “Password” is your 8-digit birthday (MMDDYYYY). Please note that your previous EZ-password or PIN has been changed to your 8-digit birthday by default for all users.  Once logged into your account, you can build multiple book lists of titles you would like to read next.  You can also select titles or authors to watch out for and automatically reserve.  A new feature that patrons will enjoy when searching the catalog, is the series feature.  If you search for a title that it part of a series, you can scroll down and see all other titles in the series in order.

As with any software conversion of this size, there are still a few kinks to be worked out.  Some people have reported receiving error messages while accessing their online account or searching the catalog.  If you receive an error message, try clearing the cache on your device, or turning your device off and back on.  If the problem persists, please contact the Library for assistance.  Library staff are available by phone 10:00am – 5:00pm, Monday through Saturday at 870-580-0987.  Thank you for your patience as Library staff work to resolve any outstanding issues with this software system upgrade to better serve you.
