Reading Recommendations for at Home

This week, Baxter County Library staff recommend some of their favorite eBook titles that can be checked out on the Library's website from the Library2Go collection.  Titles can be downloaded to your computer, tablet, Kindle, or smart phone.

Library Director Kim Crow Sheaner recommends Becoming Mrs. Lewis by Patti Callahan. This historical fiction romance novel portrays the improbable love story between C.S. Lewis, writer of Narnia, and Joy Davidman, an American author and the woman he called "my whole world." Since turning the first page, Kim hasn’t been able to set it down.

For fans of the popular Netflix series The Witcher, Marketing Coordinator Alison Henriksen recommends The Witcher Saga by Andrzej Sapkowski. The entire fantasy thriller series is available through Library2Go, including The Last Wish and Sword of Destiny.

Brenda Knight, Circulation Manager, suggests placing a hold on supernatural thriller The First Prophet by Kay Hooper, and also reading murder mystery series In Death by J.D. Robb.

Laura Clark, Cataloging and Adult Collections, enjoys the Aurora Teagarden Mysteries by Charlaine Harris — author of the books that inspired True Blood on HBO. The whole series is available on Library2Go.

Readers may browse the Library2Go collection to borrow titles and start reading or listening with a valid library card. Books on hold become available quickly, so once you find a book to read make sure you get on the waitlist. This service is compatible with all major computers and devices. All titles will automatically expire at the end of the lending period and there are no late fees.  Readers are encouraged to download the Library2Go Libby app to make downloading eBooks even easier.

To get a Library card while the Library is closed to access eBooks, call 870-580-0987, Monday - Friday, 10:00am - 5:00pm, and a Library staff member will issue you a card number and PIN.  Residents of Baxter County receive a card at no charge.

To start enjoying eBooks, eAudioBooks and more, visit www.baxlib.org and download the Libby app. Also, join other Baxter County readers on Goodreads @baxtercountylibrary for more reading recommendations.
